During the digital ceremony of the Vlerick Institute with the presence of Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Labour Pierre-Yves Dermagne and Professor Erika Vlieghe, EASI was elected Best Workplace in the category of small and medium-sized companies for the 7th time in a row.

Corporate culture and COVID-19, they are two concepts that do not necessarily blend seamlessly everywhere. Pierre-Yves Dermagne who opened the show immediately indicated how the corona crisis has dominated 2020. "Wellbeing becomes more important than ever," he said. Something our CEO Thomas Van Eeckhout agrees with. "2020 has been a big challenge for us. We are enormously proud of our employees. The culture of trust that we continue to build has ensured that thanks to our employees, EASI achieved its best result ever in this unprecedented year. It is incredible what they achieve every time, even in stressful periods. Both I and Jean-François (both CEO of EASI) cannot thank our employees and our HR team enough for their efforts."

2020 also had in store for EASI a creative quest to sharpen engagement among employees and provide new ways to connect. Engaging 80 new employees from a distance in a solid company culture is no simple task. Therefore, at the start of the crisis, EASI established a task force that communicated weekly with videos and written updates. The company also introduced an intranet, organized taboo-free Free Talks, orders for work-from-home materials, and the HR team also made a lot of efforts to continue to reward employees with small surprises. EASI's results on the COVID-19 survey are therefore particularly high.

Caring During COVID-19

EASI was also nominated for the 'Caring during COVID-19' award this year. Professor Erika Vlieghe emphasized the importance of mental health in the workplace. So the fact that EASI made special efforts to encourage colleagues to stay in touch with each other did not go unnoticed.

And what do our people themselves think?

Pinar Bedel started at EASI in 2020. "I started working for EASI during the lockdown, and I really like it here. Especially because there is so much appreciation for everyone's work and personality. In addition, I feel there is room to grow and the atmosphere is just really cool, even with colleagues I haven't been able to meet in person yet."

Mario Acquino also immediately signed a contract with EASI after his internship. The warm welcome from colleagues, the many activities - even during lockdown - and the expertise you feel within all the teams make you feel right at home he says. "EASI takes care of us and provides an environment where you are challenged both professionally and technically."
